Essay topic: Today, the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising and not the real needs of the society in which they are sold. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

In these days and ages, a successful company is along with a suitable marketing strategy and efficient advertising campaign. Some concerns have been raised about the power of advertising. This essay will argue two points of view, one thinks that the high sales of popular consumer goods are not the real demand of society, one believes oppositely.

Advertising is considered as a type of art in which advertisers use a variety of techniques to appeal and persuade consumers. With the assistance of technology, advertisements, in particularly TV commercials, is now very convincing with many images and sound effects that affect both consumer’s intellect and emotion. Children, the potential consumers are usually attracted by picturesque advertisements or jingles in advertisements. For instance, Chocopie advertisements with a beautiful song and little toys given away lure children effectively. It appears that children purchase Chocopie only for collecting toys and aactually some of them don’t eat the pie. In addition, adults sometimes are victims of advertising. They buy the products due to the trend and they don’t want to be the inferior to others.

Contrastly, the opponents think differently. It is believed that advertisements hardly impact consumers, especially educated people because they are awared of what they need. Although advertising is attractive, they only purchase essential and quality goods. Furthermore, a quality product don’t need advertising much but consumers still believe and buy more.

In conclusion, the advertising is now quite powerful and I may not be the real needs of the society in which thet are sold. Consumers should be smarter when deciding to buy products.

The gender role now is become balanced in families as well as in societies.

In families, the responsible and the thinking of women role is completely changed. Women no longer stay at home, do house work and care children. Being asked question “How is the daily time”, a successful woman said: “I have to take my son to the school then go to the office in the morning. Likewise, in the afternoon, I return home with my son. In the evening, after help my son learning, I do my work”.

Moreover, nowadays, women trend to live alone of divorce due to they are tired by the work. The thinking of Vietnamese now is changed. Women no longer feel they need to be regarded as sex objects, underdogs. Vietnamese people also accept women having sex without married relationship.

In the society, women can do the social activities if they want. By over 50% of population, nearly 50% of work forces, women now participate in mostly social activities. They appear in most work field, hold numerous important roles of organizations. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Binh, for example, was the vice president of Vietnam. There are also over 33% of members of the Congress. That number is highest in Asia. The percentage of women, who can read and write, is over 90% including 36.24% graduated university, 33.95% graduated master course and 25.96% graduated doctor course.
